Rugged 2-meters FM amateur handheld Transceiver. It provides 0.5/1.5/5 Watts of output power and features 100 regular memories, 6 characters alpha tags, VOX, simple repeater operation with auto repeater offset, automatic simplex checker, weather alert, six different scan type, CTCSS / DCS and 1750 Hz tone burst, wide and narrow deviation selection, backlit keypad. PC-programmable. This radio meets stringent MIL-STD-810 standards for resistance to rain, vibration, shock, humidity and also the IP54 standard for dust and water resistance. Ideated in Japan, year of introduction 2003.

TH-K2 vs TH-K4 and TH-K20 :

The Kenwood TH-K4 is similar to TH-K2, but operates on 70cm amateur band (RX 400-470 MHz) instead of 2 meters. The TH-K2 handheld transceiver in 2011 was replaced by the Kenwood TH-K20 with output power increased to 5.5 Watts and a better frequency stability.
