The CC-Skywave-SSB radio has everything the original Skywave has. It is a small-sized receiver intended for a portable use, the standard AM and FM bands allow for listening to local radio stations near your home, or around the world when traveling. In the USA, Canada and parts of northern Mexico local weather information, forecasts and warnings are available at the touch of a button on the 7 channels weather band at 162 MHz. The VHF Air-band enables reception of both aircraft and air traffic control. For long distance listening the Skywave SSB covers all the international shortwave bands, in addition with the built-in SSB mode you can tuning ham radio operators and utility (aviation, maritime, etc.) transmissions from all over the world.

Other features of the CC-Skywave-SSB: internal antenna for Medium Waves and stylus antenna for SW / FM / VHF, on AM mode there are five bandwidth settings that can be used to filter out unwanted noise or adjacent overlapping stations, on SSB there are six bandwidths settings from 0.5 KHz. USB/LSB button. Tuning via lateral rotary control, up / down buttons, ATS (automatic tuning system) or with direct input from the keyboard. Selectable fast or fine tuning. 400 memories divided into pages, the memories track beyond the frequency also the mono / stereo setting for FM, the filter bandwidth for AM/SSB, the fine tuning for SSB. Squelch for the Air-band. Clock, alarm. Sleep timer for automatic switch-off settable between 120, 90, 60, 45, 30, 15, minutes. Keyboard lock function. Power and built-in NiMH battery charging from mini-USB port, compatible with computer or USB wall power adapter. Run-time with batteries ~70 hours (earbuds) or ~60 hours with built-in speaker.

A very good little radio that fits in your coat pocket. Has good single side band reception. I use it daily for nearly a year so far no failures. Batteries last a day or two on a fresh recharge using NiMh AA batteries. I like how it knows the amateur radio bands while SSB mode is on and with it in AM mode on shortwave it knows the broadcasts bands. It has smart memory feature which remembers if a programmed frequency was for SSB and which bandwidth.

It has a Automatic Tuning System that stores every signal it comes across into memory. 700 memories. I use it on occasion.

I recommend it.
