PL-880 description :

Portable, multi-band AM/LSB/USB radio with good performance to price ratio. Because it offers DSP, Digital Signal Processing, on SSB as well as the more usual AM/FM it would also be perfect for listen 1.8 to 29.7 MHz bands amateur radio transmissions. A long-wire antenna is supplied, which plugs into a socket on the side of the radio. It's supplied with a 5 Volt mains plugpack, it will also operate from a USB socket - whether that's on a PC or any other device. The power supply is also perfect for charging the Lithium-ion single 18650 cell, which it does whenever plugged in. Note, the Li-ion cell is removable - just the same as you would usual AA cells. So can be replaced when it will no longer accept charge. There are also several "hidden" features that aren't detailed on the user manual as: Synchronous detection / Changing the FM de-emphasis (50 or 75us) / Changing the audio line output level / Adjust the low-voltage shutdown point. Other features: 9/5/3.5/2.3 kHz AM bandwidth. 4/3/2.3/1.2/0.5 kHz SSB bandwidth. dBu and SNR direct-read signal indicator, three-position RF gain, bass/treble tone selection, line-out function, USB jack for the lithium battery charging. Manual/auto/direct keypad tuning. Sleep timer, alarm, snooze. Keypad lock, LCD backlight. Internal ferrite antenna for LM/MW band and telescopic antenna for SW/FM, shortwave external antenna jack. Tuning and fine-tuning knobs.
