Compact, popular entry-level 160 to 10-meters transceiver. Power output is 110 Watts max in SSB mode, 100 Watts in CW and 40 Watts in AM. Double conversion 500 kHz to 30 MHz general coverage receiver with dual 10 Hz step digital VFO's, IF shift, RIT, RF attenuator, RF gain, dual NB. Tuning knob torque adjust, multifunction meter, speech processor, VOX with anti-vox and gain controls, 31 memory channels, memory and band scan. Ideated in Japan, year of introduction 1987.

Kenwood 140 vs 680 :

The TS-140S is very similar to the TS-680S model, but without coverage of the 6 meter amateur band. Similar specifications and output power on 1.8~29.7 MHz amateur band for the two transceivers.

TS-140S optional CW filter :

For the filter (455 kHz IF) installation or inspection, remove the case and open the subchassis. Then remove the two screws on the boss of the small printed circuit board on the right side of the signal unit. Plug the CW filter into the connector, the filter is not polarized so it may be placed in either direction.
