TM-455 vs TM-255 :

The Kenwood TM-255 is similar to TM-455 described in this page, but with 2 meters coverage rather than 70cm.

TM-455A / E scan speed :

Scan speed can be changed through 9 steps using the RIT control. A weight value of the form "PN" appears on the display during scan. "PN" is a number from 1 to 9 that acts as a speed reference. Turning the RIT control clockwise decreases the scan speed, and counterclockwise increases the speed.

Setting scan speed in the Kenwood TM-455

The Program Scan speed can be set independently from Memory/VFO/Call Scan speed. Reference: A weight value of "1" is 0.02 second/step for Program Scan and 0.4 second/step for Memory Scan. A weight value of "9" is 0.4 second/step for Program Scan and 12 second/step for Memory Scan.
