TRX-1 description :

The Whistler TRX-1 is multi-system adaptive analog and digital trunking scanners capable of monitoring unencrypted channels/systems in P25 (Phase I, II, Motorola, X2-TDMA) and DMR (Tier II, Hytera XPT, MotoTRBO Capacity Plus, MotoTRBO Connect Plus, MotoTRBO Linked Cap Plus) as well as AM, FM, LTR, EDACS (wide/narrow by GE/Ericsson/HARRIS), NXDN. The TRX-1 scanner use Object Oriented User Interface (OOUI) designed to help the hobbyist to build a collection of channels to scan. The Object Oriented scanning simplifies the process by using common conventions for concepts that have common characteristics: a scannable object is any defined item that can be monitored including conventional non-trunked radio frequencies, talkgroups used on a trunked radio system, radio services, defined searches. Because objects are defined by the same basic elements the User Interface is designed to simplify scanning by managing all items similarly. When you learn how to program one type of object, you can program other types of scannable objects as well.

TRX-1 features :

  • Functional keypad and backlit LCD display

Programmable tri-color LED displays thousands of colors that can be used to indicate different types of activity or activity on special channels. Also program color sequences with multiple colors for special alerts.

  • USA/Canada Radio Reference database on SD Card.
  • Quick Location based Programming (City, Zip, County).
  • Detects and masks encrypted voice audio.
  • Decodes Radio ID / Talkgroup ID data.
  • CTCSS, DCS, NAC squelch codes.
  • Upgradeable CPU Firmware.
  • Upgradeable DSP Firmware.
  • Upgradeable Database Library.
  • USB interface.
  • Supports for MicroSD card up to 32 GB.
  • Improved P25 functionality.
  • PC software to customize your settings.
  • 200 Scanlists.
  • Weather radio functions

For digitally-encoded SAME (Specific Area Message Encoding) signal to receive severe weather broadcasts. Also Skywarn repeaters that relay severe weather reports from Amateur Radio operators in the field to local National Weather Service offices.

  • Multi-system trunking.
  • Spectrum sweeper.
  • Programmable alert LED.
  • Programmable audio alarms.
  • Alarm clock function

Allows you to program the scanner to wake up and start scanning at a specific time each day.

  • V-Scanner II storage system

Provides you with a way to store multiple configurations on your scanner.

  • Audio Recording

Powerful system that captures transmissions that occur on selected Objects to the Micro-SD card using the high quality .AU audio file format. Record all transmissions that occur on talkgroups or channels, perform attended or unattended searches for new frequencies - automatically storing audio with frequency information for all transmissions found while searching, also record all transmissions that occur on all talkgroups or channels providing an instant recall function to replay a prior transmission that was missed or unintelligible.

  • Built-in clock/calendar.
  • Built-in services searches.
  • Built-in discriminator output

Provide its IF/discriminator output signal to the headphone jack. The output is unsquelched and unfiltered, making it ideal for third party signal analysis and decoding software and hardware.
