Description :

The SunSDR2 PRO is a direct digital sampling QRP transceiver which is able to work on either the HF bands and on VHF 2m amateur band. The PRO follow previous SunSDR2 with improvements as: An new high-speed ADC (LTC2209 from ADI) for higher dynamic range, it allows to operate with enabled preamplifier alongside strong radio stations within the octave filters bandwidth which is very important for low noise bands of ~14 MHz and up. Also the low-pass filters (LPF) in the power amplifier was increased to 5th order, instead of 3rd. More an improved antenna switch with idle connectors shorted on the case, this eliminates crosstalk from HF antennas while working on the VHF band and vice versa.

Main features includes independent receiver path based on DDC (Direct Down-Conversion) and independent transmitter path based on DUC (Direct Up-Conversion) architecture. Two software receivers and sub-receiver for each of them, 4 slices in total - you can listen to 4 VFOs at the same time, on two different bands. Independent wideband bandscope up to 80 MHz. Antenna switch with 2 HF inputs and separate VHF connector. Supports use of VHF transverters. Built-in power and SWR meter for HF bands. Ethernet LAN interface for fast and reliable connection to PC. Half or full-duplex mode, last mode is supported by the transceiver's hardware but is not implemented in the firmware yet. The software provides remote control of the transceiver and also the opportunity to use it in SO2V mode for creating two working places with one transceiver, ideal for ham contest position.

More features: S-Meter in the ExpertSDR2-PRO has two different calibrations for HF band (up to 30 MHz) and VHF (from 30 MHz). HF and VHF signals with the same dBm level have different scale, so corresponds to the IARU recommendations. Opportunity to use the transceiver as a signal generator via DAC OUT connector. 15-pin connector to control external devices with 8 powerful open collector programmable switchers. TCI interface for seamless connection with third-party software like SDC - with its own Skimmer, LogHX, SWISSLOG, RUMlog.

PC requirements: The 'ExpertSDR2' software works with Windows 7~10, Linux Ubuntu x64 and macOS 10.12 and newer. CPU Intel Core i3 1.6 GHz and higher. Video resolution 1024x600, OpenGL 1.5 support and higher. Local network connector 100 Mbps or 1 Gbps.

Note: the SunSDR2-PRO has two microphone connectors, one for a PC electret type and the other for a standard dynamic microphone, with Yaesu pin-out. On the transceiver there is a direct access to the ADC input and the DAC output, the SDR core portion of SunSDR2 PRO could uses external front end hardware to create a UHF or SHF radio. You can also configure the HF antenna ports so that one is used for transmit and the other is used for receiving.
