RX-5 description :

The Polmar RX-5 is a relatively light, small portable. Reception is not continuous but limited to some specific segments that are distinguished by type of radio traffic. The CB band is covered and its adjacency (25 ~ 29.69 MHz), the bands used by the PMR networks and by the amateur radio operators (66 ~ 88 and 144 ~ 174 MHz), the civil aeronautical band (108 ~ 136 MHz) and the traditional frequencies of the WFM broadcasting. A total of 200 memory locations and 5 priority channels with direct access for frequency management are available. The search options allow you to explore between band limits or within memories with a scan rate of 25 frequencies per second. For monitoring a priority channel the interval is 2 seconds. Other features: squelch, keyboard lock function.

RX-5 performance and practical notes :

Polmar RX-5 differs from other scanners by being aimed at those who do not have much experience in using receivers and who want to focus on the main VHF bands. This leads to a reduction in the number of parameters under control of the user, in fact a simplification in the use of the apparatus. It should be noted, however, that this characteristic proves or not an advantage according to the user's preferences.
