IC-9100 description :

The ICOM IC9100 offer sophisticated operations with expansion capabilties. Its provides excellent receiver sensitivity in the VHF/UHF bands, equivalent to the highly-acclaimed previous dedicated model, the IC-910H. By installing the optional UX-9100 unit the transceiver can be operational on 23cm immediately more than HF/50, 144 and 430 MHz amateur bands in multiple modes. In satellite mode the IC9100 ICOM synchronizes the uplink and downlink frequencies, tracking both in the same tuning step. This function matches normal and reverse mode satellites. Compensation of the Doppler effect can be performed easily. Also, 20 memory channels store SAT frequecies, mode and tone setting for quick set-up.

IC-9100 other features :

3 roofing IF filters for HF/50 MHz bands, built-in 15kHz filter and optional 3kHz and 6kHz filters. Twin PBT and IF Shift. Manual / auto notch filter, noise blanker and 16-step variable noise reduction. Voice squelch function. Built-in RTTY demodulator and decoder. CW functions as multi-function electronic keyer and 4 channels with 70 characters of transmit memory. CTCSS and DTCS tone encoder and decoder. First class third-order intercept point. Optional UT-121 provides D-STAR mode for digital voice and low-speed data communications. 100 Watt output power on HF/50 and also on 144 MHz. Built-in antenna tuner for HF/50MHz bands. Large and multi-function LCD display with simple band scope.

IC-9100 digital IF filter :

The DSP allows to build own filter. You can quickly choose bandwidth, shape factor, and center frequency. Three filter memories allow to change filter setting instantly. Here the passband range.

Mode / Passband width range
CW50 ~ 500 Hz with 50 Hz step
600 ~ 3600 Hz with 100 Hz step
RTTY50 ~ 500 Hz with 50 Hz step
600 ~ 2700 Hz with 100 Hz step
SSB50 ~ 500 Hz with 50 Hz step
600 ~ 3600 Hz with 100 Hz step
AM200 ~ 10000 Hz with 200 Hz step
FM7 kHz, 10 kHz, 15 kHz

IC-9100 dual receiver :

As seen in the following figure the IC-9100 has 3 indipendent receiver circuits from the antenna connectors to the second intermediate frequency image-rejection mixer. One each for HF + 50 MHz bands, 144 MHz band, 430 MHz band. Two simultaneous receive pairs are allow for different Main / Sub bands.
